DAVID COOK WINS AMERICAN IDOL!!!!!

You all knew there was a blog coming after last night - didn't you?!? Sadly, I must admit that the announcement did come as a huge shock to me because for some reason I really felt Archuleta was going to win it. I think I hit redial 1-866-4365701 at least 55 times Tuesday night hitting it for the last time at the stroke of midnight. At least I hadn't wasted my time. After watching them both perform Tuesday night it seemed like David Cook did pick the wrong songs but you know what -- they were the songs HE wanted to sing. That is what I liked about him. The songs David A. sang were the songs OTHERS TOLD him to sing. They were so "typical David A songs".... which you really can't blame him for -- again since he is only 17 years old.

So this is the last blog on Idol. For a contestant I couldn't stand at the beginning of the season I have really learned to like David Cook. Now, I'll just have to wait for his CD....

Here it is .. the finals. Must choose between the "Davids" and my vote is for David Cook. Sorry David Archuleta. You're a great singer however you don't have what it takes. If I hear one more gay-ass ballad from him I think I will throw up! "Longer" by Dan Fogelberg! Come on!!! I know he didn't pick the song but my God, the kid is 17!!! All he can perform is ballads - David Cook can sing anything!!! Or as Randy says "He can sing the phone book" .. that's a queer statement.

I also have a suggestion for this country as we suffer through this Presidential election. Instead of two years of campaigning - a waste of time and money for these candidates - here is a great idea. Six months prior to election day the campaigning begins. No one steps down everyone stays in until election day. Then on election night every candidate gets a (phone)number - just like American Idol and we vote. Whoever gets the most calls (votes) wins.

Doesn't that sound like fun?

The Best Mother's Day

I hope all the mom's (and mom's to be) out there had a wonderful Mother's Day. I must tell you, after 13 years of Mother's Days this one was probably the best. My girls are now at an age where they can understand the meaning of the day and do their best to make it as special for me as they can. They truely spoiled me and gave me as much love as they could fit into those 24 hours. As this special day came to a close I intentionally observed them over the next few days to see if it would all wear off but it didn't. Knowing that your (almost) 13 and 10 year old daughters have grown to be able to love another the way they do is probably my greatest accomplishment. I love you Erica & Kristen xoxoxoxoxoxo

Happy 40th Beth!!!

Birthday Wishes to my bestest friend Beth! First off I must say one of the top 40th birthday parties I have ever been to. (Great job Shawn!) I wish you many many more happy birthdays and I hope we have just as much fun at your 50th! hee hee hee .. We'll just have to make sure we keep an eye on Kurt next time! And, I think we will have to take these few months to recover before my time is up in November. Happy Birthday Baby! PS: You don't look a day over 25!
