Relay Success!!!!!

Well, the Relay For Life is over and it was a HUGE success!!!! Our team raised over $1800.00 which I think is fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our team was awesome and everyone got along so well. Kristen kicked ass with her final mile count at 14! Erica and I walked about 6 miles each. In my case about 2 miles was to and from the bathroom. It was a draining weekend, but, the feeling I got from participating was well worth it!
I'm posting a few pictures from the event. (Of course I am not in any because I am always the one taking the pictures).

Relay For Life

This Friday - Saturday, Kristen, Erica and I will be participating in our first Relay For Life. We are looking forward to this very fun, touching event. Reluctantly, I volunteered to be Hatton School's Team Captain. I was reluctant for many reasons. First off, I have never done this before and was totally clueless about the whole thing. Secondly, because I was a little nervous about the monetary goal teams were expected to reach. And, seeing as though we only started this team a month ago (where others spend all year preparing for this event) I was feeling a little overwelmed. Well, I had no reason to be. An amazing team of my old friends and now my new friends signed up and have been nothing but amazing when it came to preparing for and fundraising for this event. In one little month we have exceeded our team goal by leaps and bounds and my confidence has risen to a new height!
I MUST thank all of you who have donated to this cause. We could not have done it without you!!!
I am really looking forward to this event and am so proud of our team. Check back next week to see how our team did!!!!!!!

Elliott Memorial Day Fish Off

So we decided to give "No Fish Lake" aka Crescent Lake another shot this year. Last year we walked away after 3 tries without a bite. With our live bait in hand we hit the lake for over 7 hours!!! I started out making Dave bait my hook every time because there was no way I was poking my hook through a worm! After bothering him about 5 times to do it I had no choice but to try it myself. Well, by the end of our excursion I was chopping those worms in half and double threading them on the hook. Immediately, Erica started catching fish. She was like a damn magnet! Sunfish, (baby) large mouth bass, just about anything swimming in the lake.

Now, you can just imagine how PISSED OFF Kristen was at this point! Here she is trying to enjoy herself ....
We ended up having a blast! We tried our best not to scare away the fish with our laughter and we went through a lot of beef jerkey. The fish count for the day: Erica - 8, Kathy, Dave & Kristen - 0. Can't wait to go again!!!
